Fairshake Unveils $6 Million Initial Push Across 32 House Races
Fairshake, the political action committee (PAC) receiving contributions from Coinbase, Ripple Labs, and Andreessen Horowitz, revealed on Monday that it will direct an initial combined $6 million toward six of the 32 House of Representatives candidates it intends to support heading into the 2026 US midterm elections.
The group's slate spans both parties: 19 Republican incumbents and 13 Democratic incumbents. Among the first six recipients, three Democrats and three Republicans will each receive $1 million in targeted ad spending. The Democratic beneficiaries are Oregon Representative Janelle Bynum, California Representative Derek Tran, and Nevada Representative Steven Horsford. On the Republican side, the recipients are Arkansas Representative French Hill, Michigan Representative Bill Huizenga, and Wisconsin Representative Bryan Steil.
Broader 2026 Strategy Includes a $30 Million Ohio Senate Bet
Beyond the initial $6 million allocation, Fairshake is projected to deploy more than $100 million in advertising on behalf of both House and Senate candidates during the 2026 cycle. A significant portion of that budget — at least $30 million — is earmarked for Ohio's Senate race, where the PAC will back Republican incumbent Jon Husted against Democrat Sherrod Brown.
Geoff Vetter, a Fairshake spokesperson, emphasized the organization's bipartisan, issue-driven approach. "Fairshake has always been and always will be an issue-focused organization," Vetter stated, adding that the group backs "pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties."
CLARITY Bill Stalls in Senate, Shaping PAC's Candidate Criteria
A unifying thread among all 32 supported candidates is their 2025 vote to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, legislation designed to delineate the regulatory responsibilities of US financial agencies over digital assets. The Republican-led bill, however, failed to secure a decisive Senate vote, leaving its fate in uncertainty as the midterm elections approach.
The political stakes are high: multiple polls indicate that Democrats are favored to claim majority control of both the House and the Senate in 2027, a scenario that could reshape the regulatory landscape for the crypto industry.
War Chest and Industry Funding in Focus
In August, Vetter disclosed that Fairshake held "$122 million cash on hand" going into the midterm season, describing the PAC's broader goal as helping "build the largest pro-crypto caucus in American history."
The consumer advocacy group Public Citizen has tracked Fairshake's spending, reporting that the PAC had committed $82 million to ads supporting or opposing candidates as of June. That figure represents less than half of the estimated $189 million in contributions reportedly sourced from advocacy groups and companies with ties to the crypto sector.
